The maximum speed of an electric bicycle is 25km/h. This regulation is formulated based on the "Safety Technical Specification for Electric Bicycles" (new national standard), aiming to ensure the safety performance of electric bicycles and meet the basic travel needs of consumers. According to the new national standard, the maximum design speed of electric bicycles is specified as not exceeding 25 kilometers per hour, and when driving with electric drive, the electric motor should not provide power output when the speed exceeds 25 kilometers per hour.
In addition, the new national standard also stipulates other key indicators for electric bicycles, including that the overall weight of the vehicle should be less than or equal to 55 kilograms, the nominal voltage of the battery should not exceed 48 volts, and the rated continuous output power of the electric motor should not exceed 400 watts. The implementation of these regulations aims to comprehensively improve the safety standards of electric bicycles, reduce the occurrence of traffic accidents, and protect the safety of people's lives and property.
